Overall Responsibilities:
¡¤ Provides leadership to associates performing multiple tasks including the establishment of department priorities, participating in the development of procedural and process improvements.
¡¤ To oversee and ensure the continued competence of staff to perform the roles for which they have delegated responsibility.
¡¤ Ensure proper records, procedures, controls and training are in place to be able to complete accurately and on a timely basis appropriate management information reports including forecasting, budget and strategic planning.
¡¤ Responsible for the compliance with corporate and statutory requirements.
¡¤ Responsible for ensuring the Korea business unit meets all corporate, divisional and local risk management & audit requirements.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
¡¤ Calculate actuarial reserves under the following basis:
o US GAAP
o US Statutory
o Korean Statutory (review role only)
o US Tax
¡¤ Calculate annual
o U.S. RBC
o PBI
o Korean Solvency Margin (review role only)
¡¤ Produce income statement and balance sheet projections under US GAAP and Economic Capital basis for planning purpose;
¡¤ Produce regular claims and lapse experience studies as compared to pricing and make pricing standard recommendations accordingly;
¡¤ Analyse results on a client by client basis and make recommendations to Business Development and pricing accordingly;
¡¤ Communicate and discuss results with RGA U.S. corporate people;
¡¤ Oversees the monthly and quarterly financial closing process and the local regulatory reporting process
¡¤ Coordinates with Head Office and Corporate offices in the areas of Finance, Valuation, Administration, Investments and Tax to ensure Korea achieves its business strategy
¡¤ Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of a management reporting system
¡¤ Reviews and analyses financial results for the purposes of management reporting and business planning.
¡¤ Ensure the financial reporting activities are fully compliant with RG.
Other:
¡¤ Performs management duties including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and disciplining direct reports.
¡¤ Mentors associates and gives guidance on associate development.
¡¤ Participate in appropriate industry conferences, associations and task forces as appropriate
¡¤ Represent the company to a high professional standard in its relationships with major customers, government bodies, professional societies and similar groups as circumstances require.
¡¤ Contribute to business practices and a culture that enhances RGA¡¯s identity in Korea as a leading provider of life reinsurance services but in a manner consistent with our overall Global beliefs, values and identity.
